You would have to know the negative effects of smoking marijuana. But it turns out marijuana also has benefits. Recent research has shown that people who regularly smoke marijuana have a lower risk of developing diabetes.
Marijuana users had lower insulin levels. This indicates control blood sugar better. If the link between cannabis and prevention of diabetes clarified, then it is likely researchers will develop diabetes treatments using the substance in cannabis, namely THC (tetrahydrocannabinol).
The study, published in The American Journal of Medicine found that people who smoke marijuana regularly have insulin levels 16 percent lower compared with those who never smoked marijuana.
Those who used marijuana also known to have a smaller waist, while a large waist circumference can increase a persons risk of developing diabetes.
Currently marijuana is generally used in patients with cancer or experiencing severe pain. The use of marijuana as medicine is allowed in 18 states, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The study looked at 4,657 patients. Approximately 579 people use marijuana, 1,975 marijuana use in the past but had stopped, and 2,013 people have never used marijuana. Insulin and glucose were then measured through participants blood samples after fasting for nine hours.
As a result, users of cannabis had insulin levels 16 percent lower than those who had never used marijuana at all. Murray Mittleman of the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Research Unit at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center also explained that in previous studies researchers found that rates of obesity and diabetes is lower in cannabis users.
Although the substance in the cannabis plant is known to control and prevent diabetes insulin, Indonesia would allow the use of marijuana for treatment?

Do You Want To Quit Smoking A Nicotine Test Kit Is For You!
Probably, everyone knows that I order to easier quit smoking an individual needs to have a strong quit smoking strategy. It should include a quit date and the notification of family, relatives, friends and coworkers who are interested in of stop smoking plans and will be always ready to offer your support and understanding. Apart from the moral support of your close people, motivation is also a significant ingredient of a successful quit smoking effort.

Just as with other goals the goal of quit smoking also involves a great effort, persistence and commitment. And the main motivation to follow the effort is benefit you’re going to obtain afterwards, for instance, losing a desired weight from a weight loss program, getting a grade of A on an examination or employment. And even though blood pressure and heart rate rise in 20 minutes after last smoking, these benefits can be immediately measurable. In several months you’re going to get rid of cough and shortness of breath. Besides, you’ll greatly decrease the risk of cancer, heart diseases and stroke.
A home nicotine test kit will provide you with immediate results which can be an effective incentive to quit smoking and prevent relapse after you quit smoking. Home urine nicotine test kits are able to measure cotinine, a metabolite or breakdown product of nicotine. It’s measured in the urine for 5-7 days after tobacco use and indicates the concentration of nicotine in the human body. The contemporary market offers only one home urine nicotine test kit that offers an immediate test result of the concentration of cotinine in the human body. From this result an individual’s level of tobacco exposure can be defined based on the cotinine concentration that’s measured in nanograms per milliliter (ng/ml) and the interpretation scale, another element of the kit.
The result of 0-10 ng/ml indicates a non-smoker who has no nicotine exposure, while the result 10-30 ng/ml indicates a non-smoker with low passive nicotine exposure, that is a second-hand exposure. Cotinine levels 30-100 ng/ml indicate a non-smoker with higher degrees of passive nicotine exposure, while concentrations of 100-1000+ are indicate an active smoker or the person using tobacco products. This creative model the concentration of nicotine exposure of the individual taking part in the quit smoking plan, in combination with the efforts of close family members as well as other household contacts can become a good motivation for quitting smoking.
The negative result offered by these nicotine tests with the quantitative home test kit can start a quit smoking program and lead the smoker to reaching the goal. It’s recommended to test the subject from start date to stop date in order to get more motivation as well as feedback that play an important role in success quitting smoking. It’s also advised to make the testing of household contacts during or before the start date of the quit smoking program.
The major purpose of this activity is to offer additional motivation to quit smoking by providing data demonstrating the potential harm posed on the closest people who just become passive nicotine smokers. Try to do urine testing every day making recordings of declining cotinine levels, as well as providing smoker with positive feedback as an encouragement to continue the quit smoking plan.

How To Quit Smoking

Henry Ford once said, that if you think you can or you think you cant, then either way you are right. Here in lies the problem. Many smokers think they cant, or think it will be very hard.
They say things like:
1. Cigarettes are my friend: Wow talk about a lousy friend.
2. Ill be lost without them: Nothing quite so comforting as lighting a toxic cigarette.
3. I need my cigarettes to think: Nothing like 4000 toxic chemicals flooding your brain to help cognition.
4. Cigarettes help me when Im stressed. Nicotine causes an adrenal response, flooding your system with adrenalin and cortisol, nothing good about that.
5. Smoking helps me relax. Again the nicotine does no such thing. Its taking time out that is relaxing.
6. I like smoking when I eat. Just wait until your food tastes like food and not an ashtray.
7. I always smoke with alcohol. Have a look around, notice the non smokers are doing just fine, without smoking.
8. I put on weight if I quit. Smokers are no less thin or fat than any other group in society. Smoking actually makes it hard for your liver to break down fats properly.
In fact one of the best pieces of advice I can give to a smoker is to just observe non smokers going about their day. See them when they are relaxed, stressed, busy, thinking, bored, eating or drinking.
The non smokers are managing just fine without any assistance from cigarettes. Focussing on all the reasons you think you need to smoke is just making it very hard for you. You cant quit when you think your life is so dependent on smoking.
The first thing to do is to look at the list and just think about it. Start to realise that smoking doesnt make anything better. It doesnt help you to relax or thing, or drive better or hold a better conversation on the phone.
All it does is cost you a lot of money, make you smell like an ashtray, and strip away 14 years of life on average. And did I mention the slow painful lingering death.

1 2 Million People in England Could Try to Quit Smoking
"As many as 1.2 million people in England could try to quit smoking in the New Year, figures suggest."
Cancer Research UK analysis of smoking trends since 2006 found January was the most popular month to quit, with an average of one in eight smokers trying.
The charity also said those who tried in January tended to be more successful than those trying in other months.
The NHS is launching a campaign to raise awareness of the free support methods available to help smokers quit. In the New Year a series of "Getting Off Cigarettes" adverts will highlight the range of free stop-smoking support provided by the NHS. The last available figures showed around 24% of adults in England smoked. With willpower alone, the chances of success are very small Professor Robert West The NHS Information Centre reported in September that more people had quit smoking in the first three months of 2007 than in any other quarter in anticipation of the smoking ban that came into force in the summer. Professor Robert West, director of tobacco studies at the Cancer Research UK Health Behaviour Unit, calculated that 13% of smokers tried to quit in January 2007 - the equivalent of every adult in Newcastle, Manchester, Coventry and Bristol. By monitoring trends in quit rates, he also found that those who chose to quit as their New Years resolution did better than those who quit at other times of the year.
Success
He said: "We have found that almost half of all smokers actually try to quit at least once over the course of the year and one in eight try to quit in January. "But I was particularly interested to find that, contrary to popular scepticism of New Years Resolutions, smokers who quit in January also tended to be more successful at staying off cigarettes." He said that many people did not know about the free support that was available to them on the NHS or were put off because they did not know what the services were offering.
"Its not like alcoholics anonymous, its just practical advice," he said.
"With willpower alone, the chances of success are very small.
"The first thing is to get the right medication, whether thats nicotine replacement, zyban or champix, and the really important thing is having it explained exactly how to use it and to make sure you use enough of it."
Contrary to the NHS Information Centre report, his figures suggest that although people intended to quit because of the smoking ban, the actual number of people smoking has not yet changed.
"What we saw in Ireland was it took a few months for the effects to take hold."
